Counseling
The NIS School Counseling program is proactive in nature focusing on the academic and social -emotional development of the whole child. The counseling team provides support for students, parents and teachers through observation, consultation, small group, 1:1 counseling, guidance lessons and workshops. Support is tailored for the developmental stage of the student and builds awareness in the following areas; communication and relationships, self-awareness, self - regulation, identity and wellness.
Note: It is important to know that the NIS Counseling team strongly believe in confidentiality. We practice, “what happens here, stays here.” The only time we break confidentiality is if someone says they will hurt themselves or someone else, or if someone is in danger. We want students, parents and teachers to feel like it is a safe place to open up.
