Pearl Noh
Certified College Counsellor, University of Pennsylvania GSE, USA
The NIS University Counselling Programme focuses on the overall personal development and wellness of our students. The areas of focus are; academic, career, and social-emotional.
Starting from Grade 11, we support with course selection, career objectives, next steps after high school, and in Grade 12, university research and applications. NIS is an official SAT test centre which supports our students in developing their college and university application profile. All our counsellors are members of the International Association for College Admissions Counseling (ACAC).
Our collaborative and inclusive University Counselling programme aims to provide our students with the best options for postsecondary education or careers after they graduate from NIS.
The goal is to guide and support every student in figuring out what their unique path should look like. We support and we guide and we are experts, but it’s their lives and they have to make those decisions. We make sure they retain that agency.
Our University Counselling involves parents every step of the way and helps students and families to discover and make informed decisions about what university or next step is the best fit for them. Guidance is given throughout the application process, from exploring universities and majors to writing stand-out essays, to understanding diverse admission processes. University Counselling at NIS also offers a variety of workshops on different universities destinations around the world. Work Experience Week sees our Grade 10s Burst the Bubble and step out of their comfort zone to experience a wide variety of career choices in different industries.
