IB Middle Years Programme

The goal of our Middle Years Programme (MYP) is to cultivate principled, courageous, creative thinkers who are equipped to prosper in an internationally-minded world.

Grade 6 to 10

In grades 6-10, we recognize the unique needs of middle-level learners, and, as such, couple robust Advisory and co-curricular opportunities with a rigorous academic programme aimed at inspiring and supporting students throughout this exciting stage. We aim to provide learning experiences in a wide variety of contexts that encourage our students to make connections to themselves, to other subject areas, to their host nation, and beyond.

Culminating in the MYP Personal Project in Grade 10, we create a bridge between the foundational IB Primary Years and the higher-level Diploma Programme through inquiry, signature courses, service, and more.

The Middle Years Programme provides a framework of academic challenge and life skills, achieved through embracing and transcending traditional school subjects.

All students in MYP are involved in Service Learning and volunteering, which raise awareness of community needs and builds confidence in their ability to bring about change.

The Personal Project formally assesses students' Approaches To Learning skills: communication, self-management, research, thinking, or social skills.

The MYP Personal Project is a celebration of learning that exemplifies student voice and student choice, an essential component of our school Strategy. 

As a long-term, project-based practical exploration, the Personal Project is designed to encourage students to engage in a self-directed, independent learning experience. Learn more here.
