Secondary Athletics Day: Showcasing Personal Excellence

Let’s go, Lions! NIS Secondary Athletics Day was the exciting conclusion to our Grade 6-11 Athletics unit. The event was an inclusive showcase for Secondary learners to display personal excellence and work collaboratively towards the individual goals and targets they developed throughout the semester.

Students prepared for the day by selecting three events that they had been working on in their Physical Education classes. Our learners had also been focusing on positive self-talk and setting specific, measurable, and achievable targets that were qualitative in nature. The day itself was all about setting personal bests and developing skills.

Athletics Day was filled with explosive examples of our students' hard work and dedication. They were eager to put their abilities to the test in front of an audience of teachers and peers. The atmosphere was electric, with students cheering and encouraging each other as they competed in their respective events.

Through activities such as long jump, high jump, shot put, and relay races, our students displayed remarkable athletic talent and determination as they strived for personal excellence. Take a look at some of the highlights of the day!
