NIS HUB Project Launch
NIS HUB Project Launch
One of the most exciting future developments of our school is the HUB – an ambitious and innovative construction project that will elevate and amplify learning at NIS. The HUB took a big step forward last Friday with a special commencement ceremony that marked the beginning of its construction.
We were delighted to welcome a delegation of related government officials and foreign business leaders to join the event. NIS School Director Laurie McLellan and Board Chair Julia Güsten led the ceremony.
Guests enjoyed a musical performance from our Secondary Orchestra before taking part in a presentation by NIS leadership that highlighted 30 years of school growth and development in Nanjing. The HUB project was introduced, and a school tour of our learning spaces and facilities was given before the ceremony concluded. We sincerely thank the government delegation and business leaders for their attendance and support.
The HUB is designed by the same world-famous architects behind our multi-award-winning Early Years Centre, EIW. More than a learning space, the HUB will complement our aspirations to place Student Voice and Student Choice at the centre of the things we do at NIS. It will not be just a library or a technology space, but a place for curation and creation, quiet study, and vigorous discussion, with flexible, agile furniture that can facilitate the need at that moment in time.
We look forward to this "Third Teacher" inspiring our students from all grade levels and connecting their learning across our campus and the world. Take a look at imaginings of the HUB at NIS!
