NIS Announces New Primary School Principal for 2022-23

We are delighted to announce that Nanjing International School teacher alum Ms. Jacqui Patrick will be rejoining our inclusive learning community in August to lead our Primary School as Primary School Principal. An Australian with a Master of Teaching from University of Sydney, Ms. Patrick has over 15 years of teaching and leadership experience in China and a deep understanding of the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme, as a PYP coordinator, learning coach, and principal.

From 2014 to 2018, Ms. Patrick worked at NIS, serving first as an ELL and Grade 2 Homeroom Teacher, and then Early Years and Elementary School Literacy Coach. Many of our faculty, staff, and long-term members of our community have fond memories of working with her and are thrilled to see Ms. Patrick return to us as Primary Principal. Before rejoining NIS, she worked at the Innova Academy and Beanstalk International Bilingual School in Beijing in Elementary School Principal and Assistant Principal roles.

Ms. Patrick is an enthusiastic and emotionally intelligent leader focused on relationships, collaboration, and community building. She is mission-driven and committed to nurturing the growth and development in all learners. Ms. Patrick is optimistic about the future of education.

“Jamie and I are thrilled to be returning to Nanjing and NIS,” said Ms. Patrick. “We hold special memories of our time at NIS and look forward to seeing the exciting changes which have occurred over the last few years. We often reminisce about the strong sense of community built around NIS and are excited to re-join and serve this community.”

We look forward to introducing Ms. Patrick to you both online and in-person as we enter our next school year.
