Class of 2023 Early University Acceptances
Class of 2023 Early University Acceptances
The first round of early university acceptances for Grade 12 at Nanjing International School are in! Our students have not only gained early acceptance to world-renowned universities and specialised programmes, but also their first choices for higher education, with an incredible range of diversity in fields of study.
“Each of these offers is not merely a box ticked,” said Dr. Iryna Shuvalova, University Counsellor. “Instead, each one is a testament to our students' hard work to make their hopes and dreams into a concrete reality. NIS celebrates personal excellence, and you will see the incredible diversity of our early offers reflecting exactly that. Our students have been accepted to study a broad spectrum of subjects ranging from Fashion Business to Sociology, from Gender Studies to Sports Science, and from Pharmacology to Archaeology. Each of them, as a unique individual, is carving their path in life, prepared and inspired by the rigour and breadth of the IB curriculum at NIS.”
“Principled yet risk-taking, open-minded yet reflective, focused yet balanced – this is how I describe the NIS Class of 2023 during their application process,” said Ms. Pearl Noh, University Counsellor. “Their wonderful results and acceptances from various higher education institutions around the world showcase our NIS seniors’ personal, social, and academic quality, which will determine their future success in the post-secondary transition. I am proud to observe our Class of 2023 building strong self-efficacy during their difficult but achievable university journeys.”
As an inclusive learning community, our school’s NIS University Counselling Team value diversity, equity, and inclusion. NIS follows the International Association for College Admission Counseling’s Statement of Diversity and Inclusion, as well as the National Association for College Admission Counseling ethics guidelines.
“From their first few years in Secondary School, NIS students and their families have been guided to cultivate a code of honor and integrity for the university application process,” said Ms. Noh. “I believe this collaboration is an important part of our continued success each year.”
Since our first graduating class in 2001, collaboration among NIS students, teachers, counsellors, and parents aims at more than just acceptance to top-ranked universities. It’s about student voice and student choice as well as personalised support to find the best-fit university or next step for each individual is suited to their goals and passions.
“Each of the university offers extended to NIS seniors this year is yet another door opening into an exciting new future, just waiting to happen,” said Dr. Shuvalova. “We are very proud of our Class of 2023 and are delighted to celebrate their success with them.”
