A Night to Remember: NIS 30th Anniversary Charity Gala

As part of our year of celebration, Nanjing International School partnered with its main charity, the Pfrang Association, for an evening of glamour, fancy dress, fun, and the spirit of giving. Almost 200 guests from our inclusive learning community attended the formal NIS 30^th Anniversary Charity Gala, which raised over 240,000 RMB for Pfrang. The funds will go directly to underprivileged children in rural Jiangsu and Anhui to support their education. Our deepest thanks for the generosity of our sponsors and guests.

“NIS began in a humble classroom with the help of Nanjing Foreign Language School,” said Mr. McLellan during his speech about our 30-year history. “This beautiful campus, the extraordinary academic success of our alumni, and the happy, connected community all developed from core commitments to a few simple values that make us unique in Nanjing – community, quality, continuity, and a future focus.”

Mr. McLellan explained that the Pfrang Association is so important to our school because of the tragic circumstances behind its formation. The loss of the lives of NIS’s Pfrang family 23 years ago has given rise to something beautiful – the gift of education and opportunity.

The evening featured a stunning champagne reception with string sextet, a 4-course dinner by the Fairmont, a raffle with amazing prizes from our sponsors, and entertainment from Shanghai’s Studio 188 and DJ Marco. Leading the celebration were MCs Ms. Guo Xiaomin, multi award-winning TV personality, and Mr. Matt Shean, NIS Head of Admissions. For all who attended, it was a night to remember.
