The IB Diploma Programme (DP) is, by design, one of the most rigorous high school curricula in the world. But supporting students to succeed at the highest level means giving them more than academic challenge alone.

Our NIS Grade 11 DP Retreat gives students two days away from their regular timetable to explore the Diploma Programme from new perspectives – diving deeper into their subjects and the DP core, strengthening relationships through team-building, and developing together as a cohort.

As China’s first full IB Continuum School, NIS has deep roots in the International Baccalaureate. That experience has taught us that academic excellence, support, and holistic, personal growth go hand in hand. Through the DP, Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS), our Global Citizen Diploma (GCD), and opportunities across school life, students are challenged to discover their potential both inside and outside the classroom.

The DP Retreat is one example of how we create the time, space and support for our students to take on that challenge – together.
