NIS Primary Open Day 2024 Highlights
In December, we warmly welcomed 30 prospective Primary families to experience NIS and learn more about what makes us a truly international school and such an inspiring place to learn. We started with a tour given by our student ambassadors to explore the beautiful NIS campus, with its world-class facilities, including our new HUB learning spaces.
While children were treated to hands-on Library and Design learning activities with specialist teachers and counsellors, their parents joined in an information session given by our Primary Principal and Deputy Primary Principal. Parents discovered more about our International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme and our award-winning, student-centred learning Strategy.
The engagement and excitement from prospective families was amazing as our Primary Open Day came to a close – we can’t wait to welcome them back as NIS Lions in the new semester.

Grade 3 embarked on an exciting journey through the world of Science as they continued to explore the different states of matter through their Unit of Inquiry 'How The World Works'. Students had the opportunity to visit our Secondary Science Labs, where they participated in four experiments to observe changing states first-hand.

Grade 2 students explored waste management on a field trip across Nanjing, visiting recycling and disposal centres. They gained insights into waste systems, sparking discussions on sustainability and efficient resource use.
