NIS Hosts SSL Round 3 2025

NIS recently hosted Round 3 of the Shanghai Swim League. With 12 international schools from across China competing and more than 500 swimmers in the pool, SSL 3 was the largest sports event organised on our campus this school year.

“Our Lions benefitted greatly from such a big competition in our own pool,” said Mr. Niels Loos, NIS Aquatics Director. “Almost all NIS swimmers improved several personal bests in their races, and together they competed in the freestyle relays and mixed medley relays. On top of that, we were able to break 6 school records, some of them dating back all the way to 2018!”

Such large-scale sports events like SSL 3 are only possible with the help of our community. More than 75 volunteers were involved to make sure every swimmer was able to perform at their best.

“Our Aquatics team, Facilities teams and Activities team planned and prepared for many months in advance,” said Mr. Loos. “After receiving glowing feedback from all the participating schools, we are looking forward to organising an even better version of SSL 3 at NIS next year.”

Congratulations to all our swimmers and a huge thank you to all those involved in helping us make this event successful!
