NIS Hosts Shanghai Swim League

Our 9-and-under swimmers held the first Shanghai Swim League Development Swim meet of the season in Nanjing. The development swim meets stand for participation and fun with only a small competitive aspect – young swimmers come together and share their passion for swimming, cultivating a culture of lifelong participation in aquatic activities. Our students and swimming faculty invited another Nanjing school to join us for a day of challenge and learning.

NIS swimmers participated in individual 25m races and were observed by our older student-athletes from the Gold and Silver swim teams. After completing each event, they received positive feedback and an inspirational wristband. The two relay races were a chance for students to work together, first with their peers and then with swimmers from both schools. The final 4x25m tubing race event was the highlight of the afternoon, with all swimmers on their feet, cheering for each other.
