Introduction
Kali has pursued her passion for healthcare and is currently working as a pediatric physician assistant in the United States. After completing her Biology degree at Iowa State University and earning her master’s in Physician Assistant Studies from Northwestern College, Kali is making a positive impact in the medical field. Her journey reflects her dedication to building a meaningful career while maintaining connections to her NIS roots.

Background at NIS
Kali joined NIS in 2012 and graduated in 2015, making the most of her time at the school by participating in Volleyball, coaching Middle School Volleyball, and engaging in various extracurricular activities. She fondly remembers Discover China as a unique highlight, combining adventure, team bonding, and community service. “It was a great experience that pushed us out of our comfort zones and helped us form unforgettable memories,” she says. Travelling for volleyball tournaments and staying with host families also deepened her appreciation for cultural diversity and global connections.

Academic and Career Journey
After leaving NIS, Kali attended Iowa State University, where she majored in Biology and minored in Chinese Studies. She worked as a medical scribe in an emergency room before earning her master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies at Northwestern. Now in Nebraska, Kali enjoys her work in Pediatrics, focusing on providing compassionate care to children. “It’s the perfect first job,” she says, appreciating the supportive team environment and the chance to grow professionally.

Connection to NIS Mission
Kali credits NIS with preparing her for success by fostering time management, organizational skills, and a global perspective. “The Diploma Program at NIS was more challenging than my first years of college,” she reflects. “It taught me how to study effectively and manage my time, skills that have carried over into my career.” Kali also appreciates how NIS exposed her to diverse cultures, making it easier for her to connect with people from all walks of life in her work as a healthcare provider.

  • Kali loved participating in Mr. T’s workout sessions and cherishes memories of playing volleyball.
