Inspiring NIS Educators
Did you know our educators also have a first day of school?
For NIS teachers, Professional Learning Days (PLD) mark the start of a new year, with two inspiring days to find renewed purpose behind our mission and strategy. PLD is just one of the ways that NIS continuously supports faculty growth and development.
For 2024-25, PLD days included collaborative workshops, planning for learning, and deep reflection on Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI) – helping us to work towards fulfilling our mission of becoming a more inclusive learning community.
At NIS, we believe that learning collaboratively and from one another is the most effective way to grow professionally. Great relationships among our educators are key to successful development. Opportunities abound at NIS for our diverse educators to further their knowledge and skills with strong support from school leadership, with dynamic sessions that range from our curricular IB framework to inclusion, to wellness and personal growth.

At Nanjing International School, community is more than just a word—it's the foundation of everything we do! We’re an inclusive learning community, and this wonderful sense of belonging was on full display at our recent Welcome BBQ, where students, families, and staff gathered to kick off and celebrate another inspiring school year.

The new HUB at NIS, already a fantastic space for student and faculty learning, recently hosted the first ParentED session for our parents. ParentED offers the NIS community greater opportunities to learn more about our innovative approach to international education.

This means war – Tug-of-War, that is! Our first Primary House challenge of 2024-25 was a classic test of endurance, strength, strategy, and teamwork from Pre-K to Grade 5.
