Grade 12 DP Visual Arts Exhibition 2026 Unveiled

Our inclusive learning community gathered in the Cafeteria Loft for the Grade 12 DP Visual Arts Exhibition 2026, an inspiring celebration of creativity, inquiry, and personal expression. The space was transformed into a colourful gallery, where visitors were welcomed by striking visuals, thoughtful installations, and student guides ready to share the stories behind their work.

At the heart of the exhibition were the culminating projects of Grade 12 students, marking the final milestone of their IB Diploma Programme Visual Arts journey. After two years of rigorous exploration, experimentation, and reflection, students presented a diverse body of work that captured both technical mastery and conceptual depth. From bold, large-scale paintings to intricate mixed-media pieces and sculpture, each artwork revealed a deeply personal narrative. Themes of identity, inner conflict, motion, and perception invited viewers to pause, reflect, and engage in meaningful dialogue with the artists.

"Guided by the students' passion, kindness, and strong artistic foundation, facilitating the DP Visual Arts Exhibition at NIS was a truly natural and rewarding experience,” said Mr. Benny Kharismana, MYP and DP Visual Arts Teacher. “I am deeply grateful to have worked with such committed learners to bring this culmination to life. It made the whole process feel smooth and genuinely enjoyable."

The event was run by the students themselves, who confidently presented and discussed their work with peers, teachers, and parents. Their ability to articulate their creative process and intent highlighted not only their artistic growth, but also the critical thinking and communication skills fostered through the IB. The inclusion of selected Grade 11 pieces added another layer of richness, offering a glimpse into the next generation of visual artists at NIS.

More than an exhibition, the evening was a powerful reminder of the role of the arts in education — fostering voice, perspective, and connection. The Grade 12 DP Visual Arts Exhibition 2026 stands as both a celebration of achievement and a meaningful culmination of the students’ IB journey, showcasing the creativity, dedication, and individuality they will carry forward beyond NIS.
