Grade 10 Drama Explores AI

The Grade 10 showcase is a project that aims to use theatre to create awareness about a global issue. This year, our drama students chose the topic of AI. Over 3 months, they researched and then created performance work that was shaped into a final script. Each student took on performance roles, while one assumed full control of the technical aspects.

The performance was completely original and devised in class – students took on different production roles such as script writing, stage management, stage design, lighting, sound and publicity. It was an extremely collaborative experience, and all our drama students worked hard to make sure the performance was professional and thought-provoking. It was performed to a community audience of parents as well as to Grade 9 advisories. In the world we live in today, there is no doubt that AI will shape our future, and this performance hopes to raise awareness about its benefits and risks. It encourages us to keep being curious and stay alert to the development and impact of AI in our world.
