Chung-Ang University Connects with NIS Community

Nanjing International School recently welcomed Chung-Ang University (CAU) for an in-person Overseas Admissions Information Session. This session marked the very first time a Korean university has held an in-person admissions event in Nanjing, bringing together 140 students and parents from seven schools across the city. The event provided a valuable opportunity for families—particularly within our Korean community – to engage directly with one of Korea’s leading universities and explore pathways to higher education. NIS welcomed three members of the CAU admissions team, including Senior Admissions Director Mr. Han, Head of Admissions Mr. Har, and Admissions Officer Ms. Han.

Organised by our University and Career Counselor, Ms. Pearl Noh, the session reflected NIS’s commitment to supporting informed and future-focused decision-making. Following a warm welcome from School Director Laurie McLellan and an introduction to NIS, representatives from Chung-Ang University shared insights into academic programs, admissions processes, and student life.

The session continued with a panel discussion on college applications, facilitated by Ms. Noh alongside Mr. Har and Ms. Han. The discussion provided valuable insights and moments of laughter for the audience as they navigated the "hot potatoes" of application myths and truths. The session concluded with an engaging Q&A, where students and families were able to ask thoughtful questions and receive personalised guidance.

Ms. Noh also highlighted the importance of parent partnership in organising the event, with the Korean Parent Support Committee working seamlessly together like one unified office. This collaboration impressed the CAU admissions team with their passion and spirit of service toward building an inclusive community.

Events like this highlight the strength of our university counselling program and the power of community connections in preparing students for the next step in their learning journey.

At NIS, we continue to create meaningful opportunities that connect our students to their choice of top universities around the world – supporting each learner as they explore their unique pathway into personal excellence.
