NIS Secondary IB Biology students recently engaged in an exciting practical exploration of how the human heart works. This hands-on exploration allowed young scientists to observe external and internal structures, including the four chambers, valves, and major blood vessels of a pig heart. The activity helped our students gain a deeper understanding of the intricate anatomy and physiological processes that occur within hearts.

This lab work is one of many learning activities in Secondary’s IB Biology unit on human physiology. It was a rich experience for our students to have a real heart in front of them after learning all the parts and functions in the classroom.
