A New Gallery, A New Voice for Our Community

This school year at Nanjing International School, we are excited to introduce a new Secondary School gallery space, created to celebrate creativity, inquiry, and innovation across our learning community.

To launch the space, we showcased Grade 9 artworks from last semester exploring how the Surrealist movement can be reinterpreted in contemporary contexts. A selection of books on Surrealism accompanied the exhibition, inviting visitors to learn more about the movement's origins and ideas.

As the next phase of this initiative, students were invited to volunteer as gallery curators and organisers, putting student voice and choice into action. These student leaders are helping shape a space that showcases the creativity, excellence, and innovative thinking of our inclusive learning community, including students, staff, and parents.

During a recent Secondary Assembly, four student curators formally introduced the initiative to the school community. Their leadership, vision, and enthusiasm highlighted the powerful role students can play in creating meaningful opportunities for learning and engagement.

We look forward to seeing this gallery continue to grow as a vibrant space for celebrating the stories, ideas, and achievements of the NIS community.

The Annual General Meeting: A Promise to Our Parents

As Nanjing’s only independent, non-profit international school, we believe transparency is an important responsibility to our families. Every resource we have is directed towards our students and their learning. Our Annual General Meeting (AGM) helps parents see how that commitment is put into practice and have a voice in our school’s future.
